We can use this device to identify areas that have calculus (tartar) below your gumline without the need for exploratory scaling or painful surgeries. It also ensures that we are able to remove all tartar from beneath your gumline. This is beneficial because tartar and calculus leads to advanced periodontal disease and eventual tooth loss.
