Technology

In addition to the technology in our office that makes your treatment more comfortable, easier, and more enjoyable, we also use a local dental lab to create high-quality restorations.

Our goal is always to give you the best results. Here are some of the ways we use dental technology in our office to guarantee great dentistry and happy patients.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a small handheld device that Dr. Dhoon can use to take digital pictures inside your mouth. We can take pictures of a single tooth or even an area of your teeth and gums, and then we use these images to show you exactly what we see, giving you a better understanding of your condition. This allows you to make the best choices when it comes to your family's dental treatment.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry makes tissue management in the dental office much more comfortable and convenient for our patients. We use lasers to treat canker sores, remove lesions, and perform surgeries such as gingival sculpting and frenectomies. Lasers generate less sensitivity after gum surgeries and reduced healing times.

Panoramic X-Rays

Every dental x-ray serves a different purpose:

  • Periapical x-rays allow us to see the full picture of your tooth and root.
  • Bitewings allow us to diagnose decay.
  • Panoramic x-rays give us a complete view of your smile.

Panoramic x-rays also allow us to see bone levels, jaw joints, teeth roots, and to identify cysts or tumors. We use panoramic x-rays when performing extractions, evaluating wisdom teeth, diagnosing jaw conditions, and planning dental implant or bone grafting placement.

Rotary Endodontics

We make root canals more successful and comfortable for patients by using rotary endodontics. This advanced technology improves patient results and decreases the amount of time you spend in the chair. We also use an endo-vac system that allows us to resolve the infection better than we previously could in the past. Our patients are always telling us how much easier the procedure was than expected.

Televisions in Treatment Rooms

Whether you want something to help pass the time during treatment or you would like to relax your way through your appointment, you can enjoy watching your favorite shows on your treatment room monitor, while listening to them on our wireless bluetooth headphones. Kick back, relax, and enjoy your appointment!

Perioscopy (Visual Scaling)

To perform perioscopy, we utilize an endoscope that has a tiny fiber optic camera. We can use this device to identify areas that have calculus (tartar) below your gumline without the need for exploratory scaling or painful surgeries. It also ensures that we are able to remove all tartar from beneath your gumline. This is beneficial because tartar and calculus leads to advanced periodontal disease and eventual tooth loss.

Because perioscopy allows us to target affected areas of your gums, it is actually less traumatic and costs about a third of what traditional periodontal treatments may cost. This technology gives us greater accuracy and more precision, leading to less painful and better results for you.

To determine if perioscopy is right for you, contact us to schedule an exam. Each patient is different, but we are here to help you get the treatment you need to stay healthy.

WatchPAT Sleep Test

WatchPAT is an innovative, take-home sleep testing device that is used in the effective diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea. Patients often prefer this method of testing, as it is less invasive and easier to use than many other forms of sleep apnea testing. It is small and fits on your wrist and index finger. Don't let its size fool you! It provides highly accurate and detailed information about sleep quality while you are in the comfort of your own home.
